HomeBase Program

HomeBase Program

The HomeBase Program was established with $300,000 in private funding from the Najim Charitable Foundation, The Nancy Hurd foundation, and the Kym’s Angels Foundation to ensure safe and secure housing for at least 17 college students for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.

This fund answered BCFES’ call to establish a flexible fund that pays for housing through college graduation for students with foster care history without student loan debt.

Covered Expenses by HomeBase Program includes application fees, risk fees, move-in costs, and rent.

We are actively looking to obtain sustainable funding.

Mission Statement

We provide safe housing for college students with foster care experience to bolster educational success by removing housing instability because educational and life goals should not be impeded due to a lack of safe housing options.

Vision Statement

College students with foster care experience will no longer be a minority in the body of people who have obtained a college degree and will move confidently into the larger community to make a difference in the world around them.
